One of my best friends helping me kick-off a little project I’m starting called Inked.
Her story: “This is the most recent one I’ve gotten. It’s in plain sight so whenever I get in a damper mood I’ll look down and remember the reason why I’m still here. It helps drag me out of that mood and keeps me motivated. Just two simple words, but they mean so much more. This is basically something I got to say I’ve conquered a rough time in my life. I’ve become such a strong individual in the last few years and I can honestly say I am truly happy. That is such an accomplishment for me. I’ll never regret this tattoo, no matter how many people try to make fun of it. I wouldn’t have gotten it if I didn’t have a reason behind it.”

Another from the start of my Inked project today.
Her story: “My very first tattoo. It was sort of on a whim, but it’s probably the one with the most powerful meaning behind it. I got it in memory of my Uncle that passed away a few years ago. I won’t go into the story of why it’s a dragonfly, cause that’s another paragraph all on its own. But he was someone that meant a lot to me, and I sadly didn’t get to see him often. He was in the hospital for a while, but the doctors said he was finally getting better. Then out of nowhere we got a call that he had passed away. I’ll never forget that call. And I just keep thinking about how I never got to say goodbye. Now, with this tattoo, I will always have Poppy with me. He was a great man and I miss him.”

This is from a project I’m starting called Inked. Where people can share their tattoos and the stories behind them. My friend Carissa was the first person willing to share with me.

Her story: “I got this one for my 18th birthday. And yes, it’s a quote from a song by A Day To Remember. But just like my other tattoos, it has a meaning behind it. This is to help me have faith in myself, to keep pushing for what I want in life. To never give up. If I have faith in myself, others will then have faith in me. So many times I’ve been put down and told I can’t do that, or I can’t do this, but I’ve worked really hard at proving them wrong. There’s always gonna be someone trying to hold you back, but you just gotta keep telling yourself that you can do anything you set your mind to. You are the key to making a difference. Go forth and be the greatest you that you can be.”

Tattoo number one
I got this in memory of my uncle. The reasoning behind why it’s a dragonfly is a rather long story.
